Half Marathon participants will do an extra 1100 metre loop to start the event and then two laps of our 10km circuit.
Bendigo Fun Run’s 10 kilometre fun run and half marathon courses both leave and return from the lawns of Rosalind Park with the runners taking in some beautiful sights of our ‘gold rush’ city.
After exiting Rosalind Park on the left hand side of the fernery, you’ll take a left hand turn and your training will kick into action as you climb up Goal Road to the magnificent Ulumbarra Theatre.
Next you’ll cruise past Bendigo Senior Secondary College and Camp Hill Primary school, wind your way around the outside of the Queen Elizabeth Oval and retrace the course back before turning left past the Golden Dragon Museum. From here, it’s onto the smooth and fast tree-lined Bridge Street to Nolan Street.
Once you reach Lake Weeroona, you’ll turn left and head north to make the most of the wonderful Bendigo Creek Trail.
You’ll weave past Weeroona College before turning near Holdsworth Road at the Water and Aid Station manned by our volunteer team.
Then it’s back along the Bendigo Creek Trail. Be sure to wave as you pass-by athletes on the return journey!
You’ll return to Rosalind Park via the northern end to the applause of family and friends.
This will be a fantastic opportunity to run this new course and enjoy the closed roads under traffic control. We will be proving plenty of drink stations for our 2,000 plus participants.
